I got my first paycheck over the weekend and man, did it feel good to pay some bills! One day last week I got a call from Discover, Student Loans and the mortgage company for the house in Detroit (the damn thing still hasn't sold yet)!
Now, I just have to basically make double payments on everything forever. Actually, I am hoping to be very nearly clear of credit card debt in a year's time. Unfortunately I can't do the same with my student loan -- that one may take a while.
I finally got to start on a patent application for real today -- there's so much to do. Fortunately though, a lot of the writing is prewritten, they call it a form paragraph. You just insert the correct form paragraph and then fill in the appropriate blanks, it's a pretty awesome system. The hard part is searching the huge database for previous inventions that match the application. I'm just learning as much as I can.
Had a fun little debate/spirited discussion with my trainer today. I had a question about something and couldn't get a straight answer out of him, he kept going off track. It took almost 40 minutes for me to craft the question so finely that he understood exactly what I wanted answered and yet the question didn't allow him to elaborate. We got there eventually and then everything was crystal clear to me. It was fun.
